		<description>This is very very interesting and very different than my own experiences with meditating when I first kept up a practice for a month...

It was sometime last year when I first began meditation, I meditated for 30 minutes+ 5 days a week - some days meditating for an hour+ (these days I do 45 minutes+ every day)

Initially my meditation was only occasionally peaceful, but was often quite intense or feeling like a struggle.

It took me some time before I began experiencing some of the benefits you talk mention.

I have also never found meditation useful pre-sleep. For me it actually makes me just want to meditate rather than sleep, so after meditation I&#039;ll be in this very awake/aware state which isn&#039;t the best for getting to sleep :)

Everyone&#039;s journey with mindfulness is different... 

The benefits of a year of meditation for me are very apparent in terms of happiness, serenity, and various other self-improvement affecting areas. It has been a great practice to take up.</description>
